Day 01: Negombo to Sigiriya
On your arrival in Bandaranaike International Airport, you will warmly welcome by our company representative and then transfer to Negombo, the mesmerizing western coastal area of the country. Then we will start more safely and the great journey to enjoy natural lush of Sri Lanka. The prime destination is Sigiriya. En route, you will visit the Elephant Orphanage in Pinnawala which is a home for about 80 elephants, found abandoned or orphaned in the wild. It is a more popular and accessible place to see large numbers of elephants in a natural habitat. Not even that, this place is a great opportunity to observe the giant creature behavior. Overnight stay in Sigiriya.
Day 02: Sigiriya
After enjoying the breakfast at the hotel, leave to visit and climbing to Sigiriya rock fortress. According to ancient lore, King Kasyapa built his palace on the top of this rock (nearly 200m high). It derives it’s name from a gateway that was built in the shape of an enormous lion on the side of the rock. The summit of the rock is a hectare in area and the outer wall of the palace was constructed on the brink of the rock with gardens and ponds softening the harshness of the eerie. Since it was constructed over 1,500 years ago, it is claimed by enthusiast as the Eighth Wonder of the World and is anyway a World Heritage Site. Overnight stay in Sigiriya.
Day 03: Sigiriya to Polonnaruwa
After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, transfer to visit the ancient city of Polonnaruwa. It is the second city listed in Sri Lanka’s long line of kingdoms. There are many sites to visit in Polonnaruwa, such as Quadrangle, Royal Palace, Gal Viharaya, Kumara and Lotus Ponds, Thiwanka Image House and many more. Among its many attractions, the Parakrama Samudra (sea) is a landmark. Created by King Parakramabahu, it is the largest man-made rainwater reservoir in the country, spanning an area of 2,500 ha and remains a primary source of water for agriculture in the district. After visiting this great city, driven back to Sigiriya and overnight stay in Sigiriya.
Day 04: Sigiriya to Kandy
After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, leave to visit Kandy via Dambulla and Matale. First, you can visit Dambulla Cave Temple. It is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. The rock towers 160 m over the surrounding plains. There are more than 80 documented caves in the surrounding. Major attractions are spread over 5 caves, which contain statues and paintings. This paintings and statues are related to Lord Buddha and his life. There are a total of 153 Buddha statues, 3 statues of Sri Lankan kings and 4 statues of god and goddess. Then visit the Spice garden at Matale and take part in a conducted tour to get some knowledge about the growth and use of spices in the day to day life. After that travel to Kandy and you will visit the Sacred Temple of Tooth which contains the sacred Tooth Relic of Buddha. In the evening, you can see a cultural show in Kandy. Overnight stay in Kandy.
Day 05: Kandy to Nuwara Eliya
After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, you can join with a city tour in Kandy including Kandy Museum, Royal Botanical Garden and Upper Lake Side Drive. And also you can visit tea plantations and a tea factory in Kandy. Then you will proceed to Nuwara Eliya, the “city of lights,” is the highest town in Sri Lanka. Overnight stay in Nuwara-Eliya.
Day 06: Nuwara Eliya to Colombo
After breakfast at the hotel, you will driven to Colombo via Kithulgala. Kitulagala is a beautiful little town located in a wet zone rain forest. It has the Kelani River running through and it experiences two monsoons every year. Kitulgala is a best location for adventure sports like water rafting. In addition to that, an interesting episode in the history of Kitulagala is the filming of the movie “Bridge on the River Kwai” in 1957. Remains of the concrete foundation of the bridge are still visible today. Then we leave to visit the beautiful water falls of St. Clair’s & Devon. End of the day proceed to Colombo and stay overnight.
Day 07: Colombo
After breakfast at the hotel, you can join with a city tour in Colombo, the commercial capital of Sri Lanka. The main city is home to a majority of the Sri Lanka’s corporate offices, restaurants and entertainment venues. The imposing Colombo National Museum, dedicated to Sri Lankan history, borders sprawling Viharamahadevi Park, Shop in the Pettah, Stroll on Galle Face Green, Get aquainted with Sri Lanka s animals at Dehiwala Zoo are the best tourist attractions in Colombo. On completion of this tour, you will be driven to Katunayake International Airport for Departure.
